Reign in Payroll and Benefit Expenses

It used to be that municipal employees made less in salary than those in the private sector in exchange for greater job security and more attractive benefits.  Recent initial census figures indicate that average municipal salaries are higher than those in the private sector.   Also municipal employees are continuing to pay only a fraction of their health care and pension plans.   The city cannot expect taxpayers to continue to finance the municipal employees burgeoning health care costs while non-government employee taxpayers are contributing more-and-more to their own health care plans.
