The city has done little to study this issue and even less to improve the situation. The problems are complex and interrelated. Transportation is essential to commerce and our quality of life. An audit of our transportation system and its problems must be done so that we have the information that we need to make the changes that we need to make travel more efficient throughout the city.
Auto traffic is only one component to transportation in the city. We have a great public transportation infrastructure including subways, trolleys, regional rail and busses. Bicycling and pedestrians must be included. We need to make this work.
